Lentz Hall

One of the first buildings you will need to know at Carthage is Lentz Hall, home to the Office of Admissions. Once you are a student, many of your classes will be here.

Lentz Hall is one of the oldest buildings on campus. It was built in the 1960s when Carthage moved from Carthage, Illinois, to Kenosha. Renovations in 2005 gave the building new stairs, beautiful Lannon stone facing, a renovated entryway, and new landscaping.

Behind the Name

Lentz Hall, one of the first structures erected after the College moved to Kenosha, originally was known as the Classroom-Administration building. It was renamed in 1972 for Harold H. and Eleanor Lentz. The action by the Carthage Board of Trustees was part of the recognition of Carthage’s 125th anniversary and saluted Harold Lentz for his service as president of the College. President Lentz spearheaded Carthage’s move from Carthage, Illinois, to Kenosha, and led the College from 1952 to 1976.
